BIO

passion for photography began at an early age, experimenting with a Polaroid Instamatic and peel-apart film, manually removing the print and setting a one-minute timer as the image developed. What began as childhood curiosity grew into a lifelong pursuit as his equipment, techniques, and creative approach evolved over time—shaped in part by the many photographers and artists he has met along the way.

MY work has been recognized through more than 160 award-winning images across local and regional camera clubs, including multiple Best of Show honors from CACCA, St. Charles Camera Club, Elgin Camera Club, and Photogenesis Camera Club. A two-time CACCA Best of Show recipient, an honor earned among hundreds of competing images through the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA)—the umbrella organization representing camera clubs throughout the Chicago region. In addition to exhibition success, he has served CACCA as a judge and judge-curator, contributing to the organization’s juried standards and exhibitions.

M Y images have been published in newspaper articles, and his work has been periodically selected and used by Cantigny Park and Gardens. Influenced by a family deeply rooted in the arts—his mother an award-winning artist and his sister a master’s-level art graduate—he approaches photography as both technical craft and visual storytelling.

My work is further shaped by extensive travel, including visits to nearly 50 U.S. National Parks and Wildlife Refuges, as well as travel throughout England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, China, and Costa Rica.

Beyond photography, I have studied martial arts for over a decade, earning a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo and serving as an instructor, along with training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Pursuing paddlesports, continually developing my skills in kayaking and canoeing and working toward American Canoe Association (ACA) instructor proficiency. A lifelong resident of the Fox Valley area, these disciplines inform his patient, disciplined, and intentional approach to image-making.
